Originally located within the ancestral temple of Qing-dynasty official Li Hongzhang in Dongcheng District, it was formerly known as the Imperial Stele Pavilion of Empress Dowager Cixi. In 1977, it was moved to the Hundred-Flower Garden at the Temple of Heaven. The hexagonal structure has double eaves and is covered mainly with yellow glazed tiles accompanied by blue ones at the edges. The beams and joists feature painted flower motifs, hence the name “Hundred-Flower Pavilion.”
